When a slick new mega-franchise clip-joint opens across the street from his southside Chicago barbershop, Calvin and his crew must take a stand to save the shop from bankruptcy - and the neighborhood from a shady development deal.

Art Leroldi is terminally irritable. He is a small-time Reno barber stuck in a rut of haircuts, hot dogs and horse books. He lives everyday same as the last. But when he is hit with the death of his business partner and last friend, he faces losing the only thing in life he's got left - his barbershop.
