Thanksgiving is normally the start of a joyous holiday season in the Chicago, but not this year, for a bogeyman has his sights set on the city. His name is Belsnickel, and he is an unseen, globetrotting disaster monger who has peddled his deadly wares in the Windy City a number of times in the past. Now the bogeyman is planning to cloud up and rain all over Chicago's Thanksgiving holiday, hatching a deadly plot that threatens to explode into a tragedy of the first order. But this time Belsnickel faces stiff opposition from a quirky group of street-smart Chicago characters led by a careworn homeless man called Black Peter. Belsnickel and Black Peter share a common history; these foes have done battle many times in the past, in many places, including Chicago. Their timeworn struggle is once more coming to a head in the city by the lake, a confrontation between the perfect terrorist and his only nemesis. Before Black Peter can save the innocent citizens of Chicago, he must figure out what sort of disaster Belsnickel is planning. Even then, a downhearted Black Peter and his allies may be too late to stop the enigmatic bogeyman.
