Description
The heroic efforts of Chief Joseph, a Nez Perce Indian, to free his people from white military oppression in 1877. Forced by a trail of broken treaties to take up arms, he attemped to fight his way to Canada. With superb tactical skill he held off the U.S. Army, and was within thirty miles of the Canadian border when defeat finally overtook him.
