Returning to her post on a bench in front of the burned-out remains of a beloved library, a dedicated librarian reads out loud from books that have survived until her persistence helps bolster her community's recovery, in a story inspired by the Bosnian War bombing of the National Library of Sarajevo.

Sam, a shy but creative mouse who lives in a library, decides to write and illustrate his own stories which he places on the shelves with the other library books but when children find the tales, they all want to meet the author.

Bored with another normal, inky evening, bats discover an open library window and fly in to enjoy the photocopier, water fountain, and especially the books and stories found there.

"Leilong's friends are taking him to story time at the library. But it's difficult for a large brontosaurus without a library card to follow all the rules. Reluctant reader Madeline really wants to earn a star at school, so when Mrs. Dimple, the librarian, suggests she read to a dog Madeline gives it a try.
