When she was liberated from Auschwitz in 1945, a Jewish-American soldier gave her a bank note on which he’d written “Good luck and happiness.” Nearly 75 years later, her great-grandson, Dov, turned to social media to find that GI’s family, and word of Lily’s remarkable heroism began to spread.
